For those of you who don’t know about Red Dwarf. It’s a British sci-fi show that’s huge over in Great Britain, and pretty big over here too. It’s the only sci-fi show I stay tuned to. I watch it every Saturday on PBS. I like PBS, but there’s a drawback. They never show the episodes of Red Dwarf in order. Even though I’ve seen just about every episode there is, with the exception of most of the Series 7 episodes, it’d be cool if I could watch them in order, have that to look forward to for my Saturday late-night television line-up.
J Right now some people are trying to convince the Sci-Fi channel to air Red Dwarf here in the United States so we’ll be able to watch the episodes back-to-back. I’ve provided links to a web site if you’re interested in sending an e-mail to the Sci-Fi channel, for those of you who already know about Red Dwarf and enjoy watching the show.I was surprised when I found out that there are SO MANY web sites dedicated to this show. I used to think I was the only one who was crazy about it. In some ways I felt like the show was all mine. But recently I found out otherwise. There are about 900 web sites dedicated to RD. I’ve visited close to ten of them as of right now, and so far, Total Red Dwarf is the best one, in my opinion. That’s where I got the RD graphic above.
At one time, both of my brothers thought I was weird for liking this show. Because of the "cheesy-looking" settings. Okay so maybe Red Dwarf was kind of low-budget in the beginning. But the writing is so good, and the acting is so good, that the somewhat unrealistic look of the setting doesn’t matter. Those guys actually make you believe that they’re traveling through outer space. Not to mention that the writing is funny, and the stories are ingenious.
